Just Add Ink 88 – Just Add a…….Die Cut

How appropriate I needed to create a Wedding Card for a lovely couple, who have been together for an amazing 25 years & finally “tied the knot” yesterday. Congrats Rachael & Steve!

This week’s Challenge at Just Add Ink was to create something using a Die Cut. Here is my lovely creation.

The happy couple are away on their honeymoon, but this little card will be waiting for them in their mailbox upon their return.

Just Add Ink 84 – Colour Challenge

Oh my! I can’t believe it’s been over 2 months since I last blogged. I have a very good excuse – I have been on the hunt for an aged care facility for my elderly aunt & boy, have I learnt an awful lot of information on aged care & the costs involved. Finally I have found one & my 89yo Aunt has settled well into her new “home”.

I have also been “out of the swing” of stamping & creating – but now that the new 2011-2012 Ideas Book & Catalogue commenced 10 days, & I have 2 Hostess Workshops coming up, I thought I had better get my Mojo back & look out for ideas.

I love this week’s Just Add Ink’s challenge – it’s a colour challenge where we could only choose Whisper White & one other colour.

I chose Soft Suede as my “other” colour & love what I came up with – hope you do too!

Convention Photos

Thought it was time I showed you some of the fantastic photos fron this year’s South Pacific Convention held last month. I was only one of approximately 460 stamp-crazed fans consisting of Demonstrators & Guests at this years Convention, which was conveniently held at the Melbourne Convention Centre.

I’m sure some non-Convention attendees thought I was weird taking a photo of a sign! But it wasn’t just any sign – it was THE SIGN! To show me the way to my 3 days of indulgence & fun!

Here is the Welcome Sign – pretty bright isn’t it? Matches well against the Orange Stairs – don’t you think?

After we registered & collected our Bright Pumpkin Pie & Pretty in Pink bags & FREE stamp sets (can’t tell you about them just yet), we lined up for Memento Mall (there was no queue when I went there). These ladies are queueing up to grab their bargains – wonder how long they were waiting for? These bags stood out around Melbourne – we knew each other where part of a special “society”. lol!

When at Convention, YOU MUST have a photo taken with Shelli Gardner – I felt like I was lining up to see Santa! She constantly had a BIG SMILE on her face. She was very inspirational to listen to & cracked some very funny one-liners. It was awesome to meet her in the flesh.

Top to Bottom – Sarah Fisher (my SU! sideline) I was looking out for her (as I had never met her before), but fate stepped in & she came & sat down for a rest next to me. Marija Paic met her on the first day – she was at Convention by herself & was also a Convention “Virgin”. Although I wasn’t in the same group as Sarah & Marija, we always managed to catch up with each other.

Card Displays – I couldn’t believe my eyes, when I saw my Regional Swap up on the board at Convention – woohoo! It’s the one in the centre with the pretty Butterfly. I was very chuffed!

Gala Dinner: Showcasing the yummy dinner, menu, flowers on the tables & the way the Waiters brought out the food – very “high tea”ish – don’t you think?

Last but not least – one of my favourite photos. This is a photo of me & the lovely Charmaine Black. Charmaine & I have been emailing back & forth over the past 3 years. Charmaine lives in Perth & it was totally awesome to catch up with her & actually meet her in the flesh. She gives the best hugs! Charmaine also received many Awards & is also a Top 25 Demonstrator. Congrats Charmaine!

That’s the end of my Convention journey – well a very small version of it anyway. I’m really looking forward to September, when we can show you the new stamp sets & other surprizes being launched.

Designer Series Paper Blog Hop!

Oh boy! How slack have I been lately? I haven’t blogged since last month’s Blog Hop – bad girl. But there are reasons – birthdays, sick relations & other various commitments.

Color Coach Blog Hop

Hello & Welcome to my Inaugural participation in a Blog Hop!

What is a Blog Hop? Well, it’s basically hopping from one Blog to another via a link. You would have come from the lovely Alisha Watson’s Blog to arrive here or if you started here, you would then be directed onto the lovely Ros Davidson’s Blog.

A couple of weeks ago, I was very fortunate enough to stay with this group of ladies & attend the 2011 Stampin’ Up! Convention & now they have “adopted” me. It’s wonderful to be part of a passionate group of ladies, who LOVE doing what I LOVE…………………………..Stamping & being Creative.

The theme for this Blog Hop is the awesome Color Coach! Mine just arrived by post yesterday & it is full of fantastic colour combinations! It’s just like looking through a paint palette & seeing all the beautiful colours.

We each chose a main colour & then used the colours that co-ordinated by using the suggestions in the Color Coach. I chose Daffodil Delight as my main colour & Tangerine Tango & Concord Crush as my co-ordinating colours. Bright! Yeah, I know! But Happy Colours too! Hope you enjoyed what I made.

I recently saw one of these little bags made up in a retail outlet, whilst on holidays & memorized it. Actually I made up a “dummy” version as soon as I could – especially as I had to remember which way the folds worked. Phew!

Really not too sure what you would call this type of box? Maybe a Pop-Up Box? It opens at the top & you could use it for lollies, small gifts or a box of kisses!

Finally a card – although Daffodil Delight was not my main colour, but it was still used in this colour combination. I used a Masking technique on this card – reminds me of Spring, when hopefully some warmer weather might come our way.

Convention Accommodation – Wow!

Hello Everybody

Just thought I would show the outside of the gorgeous Mansion/House/Accommodation I stayed in, with 11 other Demonstrators & a very cute baby girl. The House was located in Fitzroy, just on the outskirts of the City – we could have caught the tram in each day (as the tram stop was right outside our house), but we were lucky enough to be chauffeur driven in by Rachel & Teena.

There were 7 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms – the bathrooms had NO curtains on the windows, so we had to find spare towels & prop them up somehow.

Unfortunately I haven’t got a photo of the lovely group of Demonstrators I stayed with – but we had a wonderful time getting to know each other.

My Convention Swaps

After I registered for our Annual Stampin’ Up! Convention, about 6 weeks before it commenced, I was wracking my brain for a Swap idea.

As I am a Melburnian & Convention this year was held here – I was thinking of something Melbourne(ish) & decided to dress the Owl  up in AFL (Australian Football League) jumpers to represent the sport that alot of Victorians & Australians love.

Can you believe not one stamp was used in this Swap? I used mainly the Big Shot & the Extra-Large Two-Step Owl Punch.
