Holiday Catalogue Blog Hop

Hello & Welcome to another exciting Blog Hop. This month we are showcasing the absolutely gorgeous Holiday Catalogue. I’m loving the new style of the “Seasonal Minis” which are now not-so-mini, that’s why they are now called “Seasonal Catalogues”. They also last for 5 months instead of the usual 4 months – we have one extra month to enjoy them even more. They even have more pages full of lovely products.

I’m sure you would have enjoyed checking out the super-talented Tina Gillespie’s creations – she is so  talented, isn’t she?

Here is a list of other Crafty Demonstrators participating in this month’s Blog Hop:

Tina Gillespie

Margaret Knoops    (ME!)

Nikki Sadler

Christine Blain

Here are my creations – hope you enjoy them.Image

I’ve used the Core-dinations Cardstock – Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso & Gumball Green – each colour is available separately in a 12″x12″ pack of 12 sheets ($11.95). This cardstock is sandable & gives your creation an antique distressed look. To obtain this look, you will also need the Stampin’ Sanding System (which consists of a sanding block – 2 grits – fine & very fine – you also receive some sandpaper refills).  This task can get dusty, so there is also a Dusty Buddy you use to wipe up the excess “dust” – the Dusy Buddy is also available in this Catalogue.

The Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details is so easy to use – it’s just like Glitter but sticky. Make sure you don’t put any other project on top of it, until it dries completely – Yes, I’ve learnt the hard way.

This cardstock works extremely well with our Embossing Folders. I have created 3 little tags (which could be used for any occasion).

Cardstock: Naturals Ivory, Core-dinations – Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso & Gumball Green (which is a new In-Colour 2012-2014)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso & Gumball Green (I’ve just daubed the edges – which can be seen just slightly)
Other: Stampin’ Sanding System (pg 6), Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (pg 6), Dust Buddy (Pg 6), Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details  (pg 23), Argyle Embossing Folder, Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder, 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon – Gumball Green, Raspberry Ripple & Summer Starfruit.
Here’s a gorgeous card using the Snowflake Soiree stamp set (pg 5). I usually don’t like using Snowflakes on a card, but this set is very subtle & elegant – I love it!
Cardstock: Pool Party, Whisper White, So Saffron & Night of Navy
Ink: Pool Party, So Saffron & Night of Navy
Stamp Set: Snowflake Soiree
Other: Jewellery Tag, Basic Pearls & Whisper White Bakers Twine
Finally, this is a little decoration I made using the Snow Festival Designer Series Paper (pg 10). It’s basically made from a  5 little squares measuring 3″ x 3″ squares & folded different ways. It folds altogether to create a little gift that can be sent in the mail or as a lovely decoration on your Christmas Tree. It also uses 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon & a Bitty Button.
Thanks for stopping by on our Holiday Catalogue Blog Hop – next stop is the ever-so-lovely Nikki Sadler.

New Annual Catalogue

Hello & Welcome if you have arrived here from the gorgeous Nikki Sadler’s blog & a BIG HELLO to the NEW Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue Blog Hop. This new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue only runs until the end of June 2013, then our Annual Catalogues will run the length of our financial year (July-June) – easy to remember isn’t it?

Not only do we have an Annual Catalogue, but we also have a Holiday Catalogue (these were formerly known as the Mini) – well, I can tell you they ain’t “mini” any more – they are the size of the main catalogue & a few extra pages too. But I’m not here to talk to you about the Holiday Catalogue (come back here next month for some ideas) – this month we are showcasing the Annual Catalogue.

September has been a bit busy for me so far – not only have I celebrated my birthday this month, but also had a new Catalogue Launch Party with my lovely downline Sheridan, celebrated my 20th Wedding Anniversary & am about to go away for an overnight stay in the city with my hubby. So I sincerely apologize that my contribution to this month’s Blog Hop is very minimal – but I think you can understand why.

I have used the new yummy In-Colours & a new stamp set called Gently Falling – which you can find on page 86. I’m trying to expand my stamp collection to include more male-friendly sets. Hope you like what I created.

Cardstock: Midnight Muse & Naturals Ivory

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Midnight Muse, Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green & Primrose Petals

Stamp set: Gently Falling

Other: 2012-2014 In Colours Patterned Paper Pack, 1cm Stitched Satin Ribbon:- Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse & Raspberry Ripple

Thanks for popping by – your next stop on this Blog Hop journey is the talented Tina Gillespie.

Enjoy the rest of your Hop!

Margaret xx

Pucker Up!!

Sorry Blog for neglecting you! It has been a r-e-a-l-l-y long time since I last posted – just over 10 months.

Today I am part of an awesome Blog Hop with a bunch of very creative & talented Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators, including the ever-so-talented Sue Madex, whose Blog you would have arrived from.  This month we are showing you various techniques, that can be used on your cards, scrapbook pages or 3D projects.

I LOVE this easy technique, that I am going to show you. It’s called Kissing – with a twist – it’s used with a Big Shot Embossing Folder. This technique works best with a solid  image stamp – not an outlined image stamp.

These are the basic products you need – light coloured ink pad, darker coloured ink pad, solid image stamp, embossing folder & a brayer.

You need to ink up your stamp using the light coloured ink pad (eg. Wisteria Wonder), ink up the inside of your embossing folder (either debossed side or embossed side – both sides work well) with the dark coloured ink pad (eg. Elegant Eggplant) using your Brayer, with your stamp which has been inked, press stamp onto the inked embossing folder, lift off & stamp onto either Very Vanilla or Whisper White cardstock.

What you will see is a pretty pattern highlighted on your image. Check out my design below.

The purple flower is created by using the embossed side of the folder & the blue flower below is using the debossed side of the folder.

Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White & Regals Patterned Paper pack

Stamp Sets: Button Buddies & Inspired by Nature

Ink: Lucky Limeade, Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, Wisteria Wonder & Elegant Eggplant

Other: Antique Brads, Scallop Circle Punch, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder & Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder, 1/8″ Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon.

Hope you enjoyed learning the Kissing with a Twist technique & now your next stop on this Blog Hop is the gorgeous Nikki Sadler.

Here is a listing of the other lovely ladies participating in this Blog Hop:

Just Add Ink 88 – Just Add a…….Die Cut

How appropriate I needed to create a Wedding Card for a lovely couple, who have been together for an amazing 25 years & finally “tied the knot” yesterday. Congrats Rachael & Steve!

This week’s Challenge at Just Add Ink was to create something using a Die Cut. Here is my lovely creation.

Cardstock: Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride & Whisper White

Ink: Early Espresso

Stamp Set: Tiny Tags

Other: Tag Punch, Basic Pearls, Scallop Circle Die, Manhattan Flower Embossing Folder, Full Heart Punch, In-Colours (2010-2012) Patterned Paper Pack, Chiffon fabric (non-SU!)

The happy couple are away on their honeymoon, but this little card will be waiting for them in their mailbox upon their return.

Just Add Ink 84 – Colour Challenge

Oh my! I can’t believe it’s been over 2 months since I last blogged. I have a very good excuse – I have been on the hunt for an aged care facility for my elderly aunt & boy, have I learnt an awful lot of information on aged care & the costs involved. Finally I have found one & my 89yo Aunt has settled well into her new “home”.

I have also been “out of the swing” of stamping & creating – but now that the new 2011-2012 Ideas Book & Catalogue commenced 10 days, & I have 2 Hostess Workshops coming up, I thought I had better get my Mojo back & look out for ideas.

I love this week’s Just Add Ink’s challenge – it’s a colour challenge where we could only choose Whisper White & one other colour.

I chose Soft Suede as my “other” colour & love what I came up with – hope you do too!

Cardstock: Soft Suede & Whisper White

Stamp Set: Creative Elements

Ink: Soft Suede

Other: Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint, Neutrals Patterned Paper Pack, Basic Pearl & Dimensionals

Thanks for popping in!

Convention Photos

Thought it was time I showed you some of the fantastic photos fron this year’s South Pacific Convention held last month. I was only one of approximately 460 stamp-crazed fans consisting of Demonstrators & Guests at this years Convention, which was conveniently held at the Melbourne Convention Centre.

I’m sure some non-Convention attendees thought I was weird taking a photo of a sign! But it wasn’t just any sign – it was THE SIGN! To show me the way to my 3 days of indulgence & fun!

Here is the Welcome Sign – pretty bright isn’t it? Matches well against the Orange Stairs – don’t you think?

After we registered & collected our Bright Pumpkin Pie & Pretty in Pink bags & FREE stamp sets (can’t tell you about them just yet), we lined up for Memento Mall (there was no queue when I went there). These ladies are queueing up to grab their bargains – wonder how long they were waiting for? These bags stood out around Melbourne – we knew each other where part of a special “society”. lol!

When at Convention, YOU MUST have a photo taken with Shelli Gardner – I felt like I was lining up to see Santa! She constantly had a BIG SMILE on her face. She was very inspirational to listen to & cracked some very funny one-liners. It was awesome to meet her in the flesh.

Some more photos to highlight:

Top to BottomSarah Fisher (my SU! sideline) I was looking out for her (as I had never met her before), but fate stepped in & she came & sat down for a rest next to me. Marija Paic met her on the first day – she was at Convention by herself & was also a Convention “Virgin”. Although I wasn’t in the same group as Sarah & Marija, we always managed to catch up with each other.

Card Displays – I couldn’t believe my eyes, when I saw my Regional Swap up on the board at Convention – woohoo! It’s the one in the centre with the pretty Butterfly. I was very chuffed!

Gala Dinner: Showcasing the yummy dinner, menu, flowers on the tables & the way the Waiters brought out the food – very “high tea”ish – don’t you think?

Last but not least – one of my favourite photos. This is a photo of me & the lovely Charmaine Black. Charmaine & I have been emailing back & forth over the past 3 years. Charmaine lives in Perth & it was totally awesome to catch up with her & actually meet her in the flesh. She gives the best hugs! Charmaine also received many Awards & is also a Top 25 Demonstrator. Congrats Charmaine!

That’s the end of my Convention journey – well a very small version of it anyway. I’m really looking forward to September, when we can show you the new stamp sets & other surprizes being launched.

Thanks for visiting!

Designer Series Paper Blog Hop!

Oh boy! How slack have I been lately? I haven’t blogged since last month’s Blog Hop – bad girl. But there are reasons – birthdays, sick relations & other various commitments.

Welcome to this month’s Blog Hop – you would have arrived from the gorgeous Tina Gillespie’s blog & would have enjoyed seeing her lovely creations I’m sure!

This month’s Blog Hop is based on our lovely Designer Series Paper packs – I have a couple of packs of DSP lying around, but couldn’t find them to play with, but I did manage to find one pack & I have also used the Brights Patterned Paper Pack.

Color Coach Blog Hop

Hello & Welcome to my Inaugural participation in a Blog Hop!

What is a Blog Hop? Well, it’s basically hopping from one Blog to another via a link. You would have come from the lovely Alisha Watson’s Blog to arrive here or if you started here, you would then be directed onto the lovely Ros Davidson’s Blog.

A couple of weeks ago, I was very fortunate enough to stay with this group of ladies & attend the 2011 Stampin’ Up! Convention & now they have “adopted” me. It’s wonderful to be part of a passionate group of ladies, who LOVE doing what I LOVE…………………………..Stamping & being Creative.

The theme for this Blog Hop is the awesome Color Coach! Mine just arrived by post yesterday & it is full of fantastic colour combinations! It’s just like looking through a paint palette & seeing all the beautiful colours.

We each chose a main colour & then used the colours that co-ordinated by using the suggestions in the Color Coach. I chose Daffodil Delight as my main colour & Tangerine Tango & Concord Crush as my co-ordinating colours. Bright! Yeah, I know! But Happy Colours too! Hope you enjoyed what I made.

I recently saw one of these little bags made up in a retail outlet, whilst on holidays & memorized it. Actually I made up a “dummy” version as soon as I could – especially as I had to remember which way the folds worked. Phew!

Cardstock: Daffodil Delight Textured , Tangerine Tango, Concord Crush & Whisper White

Stamp Set: Just Believe

Ink: Versmark

Other: Stampin’ Write Markers:- Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Pear Pizzazz & Concord Crush, Big Shot Top Note Die, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Antique Brad, Eyelet Border Punch, Daffodil Delight 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon, 3/4″ Circle Punch, Jumbo Eyelets (which you can’t see), Framed Tulips Embossing Folder & Polka Dot Embossing Folder

Really not too sure what you would call this type of box? Maybe a Pop-Up Box? It opens at the top & you could use it for lollies, small gifts or a box of kisses!

Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Concord Crush & Whisper White

Stamp Sets: Confetti & Punch Potpourri (Hostess Level 1 Stamp Set)

Ink: Daffoldil Delight

Other: Stampin’ Write Markers:- Concord Crush & Tangerine Tango, Jewels Basic – Rhinestone, Boho Blossom Punch & Scallop Trim Border Punch

Finally a card – although Daffodil Delight was not my main colour, but it was still used in this colour combination. I used a Masking technique on this card – reminds me of Spring, when hopefully some warmer weather might come our way.

Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Concord Crush & Whisper White

Stamp Sets: Every Month & Just Believe

Ink: Stazon Black

Other: Daffodil Delight 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon, Stampin’ Write Markers:- Concord Crush, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz & Tangerine Tango, Crop-a-dile, Hemp Twine & Bright DSP Patterns Pack
