Convention Accommodation – Wow!

Hello Everybody

Just thought I would show the outside of the gorgeous Mansion/House/Accommodation I stayed in, with 11 other Demonstrators & a very cute baby girl. The House was located in Fitzroy, just on the outskirts of the City – we could have caught the tram in each day (as the tram stop was right outside our house), but we were lucky enough to be chauffeur driven in by Rachel & Teena.

There were 7 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms – the bathrooms had NO curtains on the windows, so we had to find spare towels & prop them up somehow.

Unfortunately I haven’t got a photo of the lovely group of Demonstrators I stayed with – but we had a wonderful time getting to know each other.

A new Challenge for Me!

I decided to “take the plunge” & delve into the wonderful world of Challenges – well one Challenge at the moment. Hopefully this will get my Mojo up & running again.

This Colour Challenge was set by Just Add Ink – http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com – anybody is welcome to participate & so this is my first time to submit a card.

One of my downline – Melissa – had a recent death in her family & I made this card, as a Sympathy Card . She loves these colours (except Whisper White), but she loved the card all the same.

Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White & Crumb Cake

Stamp Sets: Tiny Tags & Just Believe

Ink: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Old Olive & Rich Razzleberry

Other: Big Shot – Top Note Die, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Old Olive 1.6cm Grosgrain Ribbon, Linen Thread & Jewellery Tag Punch

Saturday morning in Carlton!

After I had woken up Saturday morning, I decided to make myself a lovely cuppa tea – this helps start my busy day ahead.

I was staying with my older sister at her flat – saved me from travelling from the eastern suburbs to the city for the Craft & Quilt Fair.

I rolled up her kitchen blinds to see this wonderful sight:

I couldn’t believe my eyes, when I saw this BIG Hot Air Balloon drift across Carlton – so I quickly grabbed my camera & mobile phone. What a glorious day for a ride! No rain, not cold, just a perfect Melbourne morning!

Here’s a closer image:

Doesn’t the sky look wonderful?

My sister told me, that the balloons often come across this way – sometimes there are up to 3 of them.

Well, when I enjoying my porridge topped with fresh strawberries – that’s what I saw – 3 balloons floating over Melbourne’s inner suburbs.

Beautiful…….Peaceful……….Wish I was in one of them! Don’t you?

My Gorgeous Downline’s Goal

Prior to joining Stampin’ Up!® just under 2 months ago, my downline – Melissa – wrote herself a goal. She shared it with me recently & I feel it puts everything Stampin’ Up!® into perspective. She has also given me permission to share it with you! How privileged I feel – hope you do too!

“To make beautiful things to give others, to make them feel special.  To make something WITH others that they can feel good about themself and their achievement.  To bring light and life and smiles.”

Wow! I still get a tingling feeling when reading Melissa’s goal,

Hope it has brought “bright light and life and smiles” to your day too!

This little Note – is what makes my job so worthwhile!

Today in the mail, I received some HAPPY mail.

It was a little hand-made note made by a new customer of mine.

“Dear Margaret

My lovely Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator!

A little note to thank you so much for all your work and particularly for all the little “extras” you’ve made and given with our orders. They make things even more special and exciting!

In appreciation.”

It’s these special little moments, that make my job as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator worthwhile.

It gave me a sense of warmth & a tingly sensation – especially knowing I was doing the best job I can, to make people LOVE using our products& being creative.

That’s what the Stampin’ Up! Statement of the Heart is:

“To LOVE what we do and SHARE what we love,

as we help others enjoy CREATIVITY and worthwhile ACCOMPLISHMENTS…..

in this we make a DIFFERENCE!”

Thanks for stopping by!

My Customer’s Project

Yesterday, I held a class on making a Gift Bag with 5 matching cards & envelopes. Fantastic idea for a gift or even for yourself – then you have some cards handy to send out. My lovely customers loved the idea & thought it was very simple to make. I even had a brand new stamper (conned my walking buddy to join in) – I think she may be hooked.

Each of my customer’s were given a pack consisting of Designer Series Paper, Cardstock, Ribbon, Brads, Twine & Jumbo Eyelets – all co-ordinating colours.

Below is a photo of one of the outcomes. This customer generally doesn’t use bright colours – she is mainly an Old Olive or Earth Elements person, so I gave her something different to work with.

Cardstock: Tempting Turquoise, Summer Sun & Whisper White

Stamp Sets: Organic Grace (Level 1 Hostess), Butterfly Prints (Summer Mini), Priceless, Sincere Salutations & Fifth Avenue Floral (there are others, but I can’t quite see what she used)

Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Summer Sun & Yoyo Yellow

Other: Pink Flamingo DSP, Tempting Turquoise Grosgrain Ribbon, Corner Rounder, Circle Punches, Scallop Edge Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, jumbo eyelets, brown paper bag (non-SU!) & Bold Bright Brads

I think she did an outstanding job – don’t you agree??
