Designer Series Paper Blog Hop!

Oh boy! How slack have I been lately? I haven’t blogged since last month’s Blog Hop – bad girl. But there are reasons – birthdays, sick relations & other various commitments.

Welcome to this month’s Blog Hop – you would have arrived from the gorgeous Tina Gillespie’s blog & would have enjoyed seeing her lovely creations I’m sure!

This month’s Blog Hop is based on our lovely Designer Series Paper packs – I have a couple of packs of DSP lying around, but couldn’t find them to play with, but I did manage to find one pack & I have also used the Brights Patterned Paper Pack.

I found this noticeboard on this lovely blog –  Anne Hayward .  One of my lovely Hostesses recently received this as a Thank You gift – on the note, it has special reminders incl. my birthday, upcoming dates for Stamp Club, new catalogue release date & more.

Color Coach Blog Hop

Hello & Welcome to my Inaugural participation in a Blog Hop!

What is a Blog Hop? Well, it’s basically hopping from one Blog to another via a link. You would have come from the lovely Alisha Watson’s Blog to arrive here or if you started here, you would then be directed onto the lovely Ros Davidson’s Blog.

A couple of weeks ago, I was very fortunate enough to stay with this group of ladies & attend the 2011 Stampin’ Up! Convention & now they have “adopted” me. It’s wonderful to be part of a passionate group of ladies, who LOVE doing what I LOVE…………………………..Stamping & being Creative.

The theme for this Blog Hop is the awesome Color Coach! Mine just arrived by post yesterday & it is full of fantastic colour combinations! It’s just like looking through a paint palette & seeing all the beautiful colours.

We each chose a main colour & then used the colours that co-ordinated by using the suggestions in the Color Coach. I chose Daffodil Delight as my main colour & Tangerine Tango & Concord Crush as my co-ordinating colours. Bright! Yeah, I know! But Happy Colours too! Hope you enjoyed what I made.

I recently saw one of these little bags made up in a retail outlet, whilst on holidays & memorized it. Actually I made up a “dummy” version as soon as I could – especially as I had to remember which way the folds worked. Phew!

Cardstock: Daffodil Delight Textured , Tangerine Tango, Concord Crush & Whisper White

Stamp Set: Just Believe

Ink: Versmark

Other: Stampin’ Write Markers:- Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Pear Pizzazz & Concord Crush, Big Shot Top Note Die, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Antique Brad, Eyelet Border Punch, Daffodil Delight 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon, 3/4″ Circle Punch, Jumbo Eyelets (which you can’t see), Framed Tulips Embossing Folder & Polka Dot Embossing Folder

Really not too sure what you would call this type of box? Maybe a Pop-Up Box? It opens at the top & you could use it for lollies, small gifts or a box of kisses!

Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Concord Crush & Whisper White

Stamp Sets: Confetti & Punch Potpourri (Hostess Level 1 Stamp Set)

Ink: Daffoldil Delight

Other: Stampin’ Write Markers:- Concord Crush & Tangerine Tango, Jewels Basic – Rhinestone, Boho Blossom Punch & Scallop Trim Border Punch

Finally a card – although Daffodil Delight was not my main colour, but it was still used in this colour combination. I used a Masking technique on this card – reminds me of Spring, when hopefully some warmer weather might come our way.

Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Concord Crush & Whisper White

A Get-Well Card for our Lovely Bus Supervisor

My eldest son catches a shuttle bus to & from school each day, as it’s too far for me to take him to school & also the Dept of Education pays for the priviledge of being driven to school.

Earlier this month, our lovely Supervisor – Tammy – had a small operation & had to have some time off work.

Our Bus Driver – Trevor – wanted to organize a card for her, so all the kids could sign it & give her a BIG lift to get better sooner. I suggested I would make one large enough for all the kids to sign.

Below is what I came up with:

I used a few “retired” products – because I still LOVE them.

Cardstock: Orchid Opulence (retired) & Whisper White

Stamp Set: Cottage Garden & Sincere Salutations

Inks: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive & Pale Plum (retired)

Other: Scallop Trim Border, Versamark, Rich Razzleberry Polka-Dot Ribbon (retired), Old Olive Button – Playground (retired), Butterfly Punch, Cottage Wall DSP (retired), Hemp Twine, Jewels Basic Rhinestones & Large Oval Punch

The Supervisor LOVED her card so much, she cried! She is now back on the bus with the kids – it’s lovely to see her bright & happy smiley face every morning & afternoon.

Thanks for popping in! Hey I blogged for the first time in 6 weeks! Woohoo!

50th Birthday Card

On the weekend, we were invited to a friend’s 50th Birthday!

The invite stated “No Presents” but it didn’t say “No Cards”!

Paul is barracks for the Richmond Tigers – an AFL football team. I decided to use the Team’s colours for his special card.

I CASE’d the idea from Marelle Taylor – although mine is a bit skinnier.

Cardstock: Basic Black, Daffodil Delight & Whisper White

Stamp set: Medallion BG

Ink: Daffodil Delight & Versamark

Other: Clear Embossing Powder, 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, Big Shot Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Dies

This design of card could be used for any gender – very versatile!
