My Regional Swap – 13 November

I didn’t have a clue what to make, for a Swap,  for this year’s Regional event. Over the past 2 years, I have made little cards & bookmarks – this year was I after something different.

I actually made a card front.  Thanks to be my new friend – Bertie – The Big Shot (that name just popped into my head) – made my job alot easier.

I used the Vintage Wallpaper &/or Polka Dot Embossing Folders, Beautiful Wings Embosslits, Scallop Trim Corner Punch, Basic Pearls, Glossy Cardstock, Frost White Shimmer Paint, Stampin’ Pastels, Elegant Eggplant & Very Vanilla cardstock – & Because I Care Stamp Set. Phew!

There’s the outcome!

The technique I used was called Shimmery Pastels.

Here is what you do:-

With your glossy cardstock, dab some (already shaken) shimmer paint over the glossy cardstock, using Glad Wrap. To quicken up the process – use your Heat Tool to dry it. Then using a dauber or sponge, dab into your Pastels & then onto the shimmery glossy cardstock.

The card definitely looks better in real life.

Melbourne Regional Event – 13 November

Last Saturday, was Melbourne’s turn to have the annual Stampin’ Up!® Regional event. We had been waiting since late July, when we initially booked – November seemed to be ages away back then, but then it was upon us very quickly!

I was very very fortunate this year, to be able to take my 2 downline (Melissa & Liz) with me & I also took along a very good friend of mine – Mandy.

I made a little gift for Melissa, Liz & Mandy – my other very good friend – Michelle also got a gift too.

I was taught how to make these tag bags on UStamp last year – but instead of filling them with tags, I filled them with LOLLIES & my Regional Swap. I put their first initial on the front of the bag. So I could remember which “M” belonged to either Melissa, Mandy or Michelle – I used colours, which I knew they loved. Hey, it worked!

Colour combinations used were: Cherry Cobbler & Always Artichoke, Concord Crush & Silver Metallic, Daffodil Delight & Tempting Turquoise, Marina Mist & Crumb Cake.

I used the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder & Timeless Type Alphabet Junior Sizzlits.

The stamp set used was Tiny Tags. I used my crop-a-dile to make an big hole for my jumbo eyelets, then just threaded some co-ordinating ribbon to make a tie.

On the back of each Bag, was a little (actually large) note. You can’t see what’s written, as it’s on the other side. I hope each of them remembered to read it.

I used the Scallop Circle Die & Because I Care Stamp Set (Level 1 Hostess Set). I used the matching inks to co-ordinate with the bags.

I’m not very good at tying bows – maybe I need a lesson or two.

My Team, Friend & Sideline loved their gifties!

Thanks for visiting!
