Pucker Up!!

Sorry Blog for neglecting you! It has been a r-e-a-l-l-y long time since I last posted – just over 10 months.

Today I am part of an awesome Blog Hop with a bunch of very creative & talented Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators, including the ever-so-talented Sue Madex, whose Blog you would have arrived from.  This month we are showing you various techniques, that can be used on your cards, scrapbook pages or 3D projects.

I LOVE this easy technique, that I am going to show you. It’s called Kissing – with a twist – it’s used with a Big Shot Embossing Folder. This technique works best with a solid  image stamp – not an outlined image stamp.

These are the basic products you need – light coloured ink pad, darker coloured ink pad, solid image stamp, embossing folder & a brayer.

You need to ink up your stamp using the light coloured ink pad (eg. Wisteria Wonder), ink up the inside of your embossing folder (either debossed side or embossed side – both sides work well) with the dark coloured ink pad (eg. Elegant Eggplant) using your Brayer, with your stamp which has been inked, press stamp onto the inked embossing folder, lift off & stamp onto either Very Vanilla or Whisper White cardstock.

What you will see is a pretty pattern highlighted on your image. Check out my design below.

The purple flower is created by using the embossed side of the folder & the blue flower below is using the debossed side of the folder.

Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White & Regals Patterned Paper pack

Stamp Sets: Button Buddies & Inspired by Nature

Ink: Lucky Limeade, Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, Wisteria Wonder & Elegant Eggplant

Other: Antique Brads, Scallop Circle Punch, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder & Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder, 1/8″ Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon.

Gift for a Friend!

My Lovely Friend – Rosie – is recovering from a major operation. She is currently at a rehab centre doing physio, exercises & generally recovering from the operation.

I remember when I was in hospital last year & at times, you can go “bonkers” from not doing the “normal” things in our life. To make the time go fast, or seem to, I decided to make Rosie her own Gift Bag with cards inside – ready for when she needs to send out “Thank You” cards or whatever.

So below is my creation & matching cards:

Cardstock: Rose Red & Very Vanilla

Stamp Sets: Pocket Silhouettes, Garden Whimsy, Inspired by Nature, Organic Grace (Level 1 Hostess), Always & Hello Again (Summer Mini).

Ink: Old Olive, Kiwi Kiss & Rose Red

Other: Raspberry Tart DSP, Rose Red 1″ Double-Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Jumbo Eyelets, Scallop Square Punch, 1 1/4″ Square Punch, Photo Corners Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, Slit Punch & Hemp Twine

Mojo Monday 122

Hello & Welcome to my Blog!

Below is my Mojo Monday card – I ‘ved used colours I wouldn’t normally use. But I love the way they work well together.

The flower design isn’t actually a stamp – it’s a sheet of Designer Series Paper & I’ve just trimmed it to suit. Quite effective, don’t you think?

Cardstock: Whisper White & Basic Black

Stamp Sets: Inspired By Nature & Butterfly Prints

Ink: Basic Black

Other: Urban Oasis DSP, White Gel Pen, Basic Black Grosgrain Ribbon, Scallop Oval Punch, Oval Punch, 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, Butterfly Punch & Gold Brads

I really enjoyed making this easy card – hope you enjoyed looking at it.

Thanks for passing through!

Naughty, but Nice………now!

I have been VERY naughty for not blogging in so long. But like almost everybody else, have a particular celebration almost upon us & need to prepare for it. That not only means writing up Christmas Cards, preparing food for the hungry guests or buying the RIGHT present – I’ve made most of my Christmas Cards, but I’ve also put together 4 special gifts for family members. (This is the NICE side – actually VERY nice side)

My elderly aunt is very difficult to buy for (she has everything……well almost) & I can’t possibly buy her another calendar – because then she’ll know what she’ll be getting year-after-year. My Mother-in-law is also difficult to buy for.  My DH doesn’t help, because he has no idea either.

So this year, I have decided to make them Special Gifts – a little bag consisting of 10 hand-made cards. No greetings on the cards – so the cards can be used for any occasion.

My sisters will also be receiving the same gift. I know the cards will be used (or at least I hope so) – as we always need a “last minute” card for something – don’t we?

Below are some of the cards I have made – hope you like them, as much as I enjoyed making them.

These cards are basically the same, just angled the squares differently.

Cardstock: Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss & Pacific Point

Stamp Set: Pocket Silhouettes

Ink: Kiwi Kiss & Pacific Point

Other: Scallop Square Punch, Earth Element Brads & Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon

Cardstock: Whisper White & Pumpkin Pie

Stamp sets: Best Yet & Inspired by Nature

Ink: Pumpkin Pie

Other: Earth Element Brads, Scallop Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Washington Apple DSP & Earth Element Markers

I’m Back………….. Did you miss me?

Actually, I haven’t been anywhere, but been busy – but today I’ve got a little time to upload some photos.

This card was for another friend’s birthday & has used the Kissing technique. It’s where you stamp a solid image & then use another stamp to “kiss” the main image, as it does so, some of the ink comes away leaving an image of the 2nd stamp. Hope all that make sense!

Cardstock: Basic Black, Very Vanilla & Elegant Eggplant

Stamp Set: Sincere Salutations, Inspired by Nature & Think Happy Thoughts

Ink: Elegant Eggplant

Other: Dazzling Diamonds, Scallop Oval Punch & Light Orchid Ribbon (retired)
