Christmas Stamp A Stack Class

Good Morning Ladies

It’s raining (drizzling) here in Melbourne today – so what a better way to spend the day, than to upload some more photos of cards. These cards are from my Christmas Stamp A Stack classes on this week.

I had 2 lovely & chatty ladies here on Tuesday – both of whom LOVED these cards. I’ll be having another 3 very entertaining ladies here tomorrow night making the same cards. (Hopefully none of them have a sneak peak at my Blog!)

Need to tell you a little story first – I accidently bought the heart punch, then I thought “How am I going to use this punch?” – but then I had a “brain-wave” – AMAZING yeah? So I used the heart punch in one of my Christmas cards.

Mother Nature

During the recent Victorian school holidays, we took our boys for a drive through the fire ravaged areas of Black Saturday. We drove up the Melba Hwy to Yea (didn’t turn off to Kinglake), but saw enough to make us realize the damage caused eg. burnt out cars – just pushed into the gullies, destroyed homes, etc.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch at Yea, then made our way back home via Maroondah Hwy. We saw lots more destroyed homes & trees.

I felt we weren’t ready to visit Marysville just yet – I kind of, felt like an intruder, if we did. I think we need to give these residents time to heal, not have a car load of visitors to “sticky beak”. I actually felt quite uncomfortable travelling down Maroondah Hwy, knowing that Marysville was just over the hill. It was an eerie feeling.

We had to pass through Narbethong & Buxton – which were almost totally destroyed – that gave us an idea of the total devastation of Black Saturday.

On a lighter note, what I did notice, what the beauty of the area – hard to imagine, isn’t it?

Yes, the trees were blacken, the leaves were burnt orange, but also noticed quite a bit of greenery throughout. Grass was growing back, beautiful Ferns were popping up. Made me realize that Mother Nature is quite bizarre.

I had an idea for a card I wanted desperately to complete, so here it is:

Cardstock: Really Rust, Basic Black, Whisper White & Vellum

Ink: Basic Black & all the Greens (too many to mention)

Stamp Set: Tres Chic BG
